Umbrella Clothesline - Why Clotheslines Shaped Like an Umbrella Are Becoming Popular

!: Umbrella Clothesline - Why Clotheslines Shaped Like an Umbrella Are Becoming Popular

The Umbrella clothesline or Rotary clothesline as it is also known was invented to save space in people's gardens when they were drying their laundry or washing.

The traditional clothesline of a piece of string tied between two poles took up the whole garden, getting in the way of activities and yet had hardly any space to hang clothes on. The umbrella clothesline, was a revolution for the garden. It takes up a tiny amount of space but provides meters and meters of actual line space to hang washing to dry. Some umbrella clotheslines have as much as 40 meters of line space, looped round and round the umbrella poles to ensure a big families washing can fit on.

Modern umbrella clotheslines even fold up when not in use and can even be easily taken out of the ground to make room for games like backyard cricket, for the kids to run around in safely or to host parties or barbeque's.

Now they even come with rotary clothesline covers so they can be turned into giant umbrella's to protect you from the sun. When they haven't got clothes on them garden furniture can even be placed underneath! Or alternatively umbrella clotheslines double as a shady spot for kids to play underneath.

Waterproof clothesline covers can even be used in the rain, ensuring it really is an umbrella clothesline so no body needs to use an electric drier, no matter what the weather.

Umbrella clotheslines are a much better way of drying your clothes than using an electric drier. For one thing, they don't cost anything on the electricity bill meaning everyone has the potential to save money, or to spend it on something much more enjoyable.

Save the planet too, because umbrella clotheslines use no natural resources other than the suns energy rays while drying clothes: unlike electric driers, which use more electricity than any other household appliance.

A number of key points why umbrella clotheslines are becoming more popular are,

* Clothes dried on a clothesline smell lovely and fresh from being dried naturally outside.

* Creases drop out of clothes when hung to dry so there may be no need to iron most clothes anymore.

*An electric drier is unkind to clothes, it fades them, and stretches or shrinks the fabric and sets stains permanently. As clothes dry gently on an umbrella clothesline, no harm will come to them!

It is much more enjoyable to stand in the sunshine hanging clothes out than it is to stand in a stuffy room, crouching down stuffing fabric into a machine. Get outside, enjoy your garden and become more eco-friendly at the same time!

What to Wear When You Are at Wimbledon Centre Court

!: What to Wear When You Are at Wimbledon Centre Court

Wimbledon has arrived and with luck the weather will stay fine but being England this is never guaranteed. In fact many would say the on set of Wimbledon heralds a bout of bad weather. Let's hope not!

If you are lucky enough to have a ticket to Centre Court at Wimbledon this year, you may be wondering what you are going to wear! This is an opportunity to dress up and enjoy your day out but there are other considerations to take into account. As mentioned earlier, the weather in England is fickle and can change dramatically within the space of a few minutes. One moment the sun is out, the next a thunderstorm rolls in. Comfort is another consideration. It can be a long day and even if you are sitting down for the majority of the time, there is a lot of walking, too and from the public conveniences or to purchase champagne and strawberries.

In order to accommodate the possible changes in weather, thin layers that can be peeled off or replaced easily with minimum disturbance to other people in the audience is essential. Waterproof coat and an umbrella if it rains and a sun hat and sun glasses for sunshine. Comfortable shoes that you can walk in, if you intend to watch other games around Wimbledon other than just the Centre Court. Even if you love to wear heels, make sure you have worn them in; avoid new shoes at all costs.

Light colours reflect the sun so whatever your colouring, choose some of the lighter colours from your colour pallet. This is more of a challenge for "deeps" but as long as you mix a deep colour with light colour, you will still look good. "Lights" are in their element in the summer and choose any number of pale colours from their colour pallet. Don't forget to have a raincoat in one of your best colours and think about the colour of your umbrella. It will be close to your face and will reflect onto your complexion.

To summarise; wear several thin layers which can be added or taken off according to the temperature, bring a stylish raincoat and an umbrella in colours that suit you and a hat and sunglasses in colours and styles that suit you so you prepared for whatever an English summer can bring.

DIY Deck Cleaning, Coating, and Conditioning Considered

!: DIY Deck Cleaning, Coating, and Conditioning Considered

When is the best time to clean, coat, and refurbish you the deck, gazebo, or wood patio at your home? Well, you may not like this answer, but it really depends. Depends on what you ask? Well, seasonal temperatures, and how much you are using your deck are the first consideration.

If you are not using your deck, no need to coat and treat it in the dead of winter, plus it's hard to get the coatings to dry anyway with the chance of snow, rain, sleet, or freezing - which can make your Do-it-Yourself project a total mess and disaster.

In the Winter the wood takes a beating and often the coatings can peel or come apart. Most of the deck coatings you buy in the home improvement stores last 2-5 years, and thus, you should buy the best you can, premium quality stuff. But rest assured the secret is all in the pre-prepping of the deck or gazebo, as the coating is fairly cut and dry (wet). How would I know?

Well, you see before retirement I ran a franchising company and one of our franchise modules was Deck Cleaning. Yes, it was a seasonal business, you see, early to Mid April is pretty much when the services are most desired below the Mason Dixon Line, so March issue makes sense, and above the Mason Dixon Line, I'd say that late April, early May is the busiest.

Folks start thinking about such things as the temperatures start heading up about 70-degrees average during the day. This industry gets NUTS, literally controlled chaos in Spring, by fall and winter, it's a trickle, and thus, our crews seek other work. I'd like you to also consider this famous question; "when did Noah build the ark?" Before the storm right, yep, and so you need that wood treated and coated before winter so it doesn't rot out. Indeed, I hope you will please consider all this.

You never know when you'll need an extra. When you hand over a printed umbrellas to a valued client, they're not thinking of the dozen other umbrellas they've tossed into a drawer. More likely, they're considering how handy it will be to have this one at the office - just in case.

Fact: The best promotional items are those that the recipient will find useful.

Umbrellas are high on the list of items that EVERYONE finds useful. There are some gifts that have limited appeal - pedometers are perfect for the health conscious market, for instance. Printed golf tees are perfect giveaways for those that like to golf. Umbrellas are one-size-fits-all, good for everyone on your list. Quality promotional umbrellas are welcome in any market, from sub-teens to seniors and everyone in between.

Just because umbrellas appeal to everyone doesn't mean that they can't be targeted for your particular market. There's such a broad range of styles, types and colors that you can easily choose promotional printed umbrellas that will most appeal to your market segment. Go for the dignity with elegant ferules and muted colors, or appeal to your spirited youth market with eye-popping colors and wild prints. Fact: Promotional gifts that are used in public offer the secondary advantage of brand visibility.

Where else does one use an umbrella but in public? When the skies open to let the rain out, your message will be seen all over town on your promotional umbrellas. What other item can give you such broad exposure?

Fact: Promotional umbrellas offer you one of the largest print areas for your message.

In a world where big means visible, promotional umbrellas have a major advantage. If your main aim is visibility, you can choose a style that offers all-over printing so that your logo can be seen from block ahead. On the other hand, if you prefer a more discreet presence, you'll find distinctively styled printed umbrellas that print your message on the umbrella handle or on the wrist strap where your customer will always see it.

Fact: Promotional umbrellas offer great opportunities for marketing slogans and tie-ins.

One way to make your marketing promotions pay off extra dividends is by coordinating your promotional gifts with a slogan or message from your company.
